Massage Therapy Led Me To Chiropractic

I am so happy to meet every new patient that comes through our door; because I know that there is a good chance that we can really help them, even if they have had other types of health care in the past.
I got interested in chiropractic from having remarkable success co-treating patients with local doctors when I was a massage therapist in Denver. I spent over a decade in Colorado working as a regionally respected neuromuscular therapist; and it was there that I developed a real passion for the healing power of manual medicine.
I have always held interest in living systems and chose to pursue my career through science. I graduated cum laude with my undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. I also graduated from the Colorado Institute of Massage Therapy in Colorado Springs in 1995 with certifications in massage therapy and neuro-muscular therapy. This led me to chiropractic school in 2001 – graduating cum laude from Western States Chiropractic College in Portland Oregon, as a Doctor of Chiropractic. I have a continued passion for learning because I think that personal and professional growth requires constantly challenging myself in an effort to bring my patients as wide a spectrum of knowledge as possible. My goal this upcoming year is to begin my training as a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician.
My goals as a health care professional are to serve my community by providing outstanding care to my patients and to educate people inside and outside the practice about the importance of healthy and natural lifestyle choices, such as: regular exercise, healthy diet and nutritional supplementation, balanced structure and flexibility.
My wife and two young children recently relocated to Massachusetts from the west coast to be nearer family. My wife, Caroline grew up on the south shore, and it has been very good to be surrounded by people that care about us. We are trying to explore New England as much as we can, as we enjoy hiking, skiing and the coastal areas. It is true that that every region of this country has something unique and exciting to offer and we should appreciate it’s vast diversity.
Chiropractic Is A Lifestyle
I believe that chiropractic care is an important component of healthy living. Structure and function of the body’s systems are intimately tied to one another. Balanced and fluid movement is one indication of an unrestricted and uninhibited body. I have included chiropractic as my cornerstone of healthy living for many years, as chiropractors are experts in preventative and holistic medicine. Of course, there is a time and place for every health care intervention. I am quick to recognize when chiropractic care is not indicated, and refer the patient to another trusted professional; whether that be a general practitioner, orthopedic surgeon, acupuncturist, or even another chiropractor. Adopting proactive and preventative lifestyle choices has undoubtedly spared me and my family from being over-reliant on unhealthy drugs and unnecessary surgery.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. If you are interested in improving your health, I would be excited to meet you and tell you personally how I think we could team together to achieve your goals.
